Big Shop #2

I got the Office Stash home and inventoried. Now time to fill in the gaps with fresh fruits & veggies, dairy and restock whatever basics I’m getting low on. Watch out for sales!

First the Veggies.

1 bunch green onion, 1 bunch spinach, 1 bunch radish, parsley, 1 zucchini, 3 yellow squash, 2 sweet potato, 1 bulb garlic, 1 pound mushrooms, a bag of mini sweet peppers, 1 bunch basil, 3 onions, on package cherry tomatoes, 5 pounds potatoes, 1 pound carrots.

Frozen corn, green beans, and some stir fry mix.
Bananas, apples, oranges, limes & lemons.
18 eggs, some breakfast sausage, some pepperoni, and SCORE! a BOGO on steaks.

Note on BOGO or buy one get one free. Make sure you can use/store it all. Buy two as close to the same price as possible to get the best deal. These were both around $16 and change. If you buy one for $16 and one for $6 they will give you the $6 one free. Only saving $6. If you buy two for about $16 you will get the second $16 one free, thereby saving $16 and as they are sold by the pound it is a lot more food.

Dairy

1/2 gallon whole milk, 7 oz Irish cheddar – to go with the Irish sausages, feta – it lasts surprisingly long, 1 pound co-jack, 1 pound mozzarella, whole milk plain yogurt, 1 pound butter (I always keep a spare pound of butter in the freezer).

Rice, elbow mac, angel hair pasta, popcorn, sourdough bread, flour.
Black olives, dill pickles, pineapple and mandarin orange fruit cups, coconut milk, salsa, pickles jalapenos, chipotle peppers, two bottles extra virgin olive oil (BOGO), mayo, dill weed, walnuts, raisins, crasins.

Angel

I have always cooked, I was that person who could make a meal from an empty fridge. I have lived alone and with large and small families, I have cooked for camps on wood stoves, and in professional kitchens. I have lived and worked all over the west from Montana, to Seattle to Arizona to San Diego. I have traveled, maybe not 'all over the world', yet, and have collected tastes recipes and techniques everywhere, and every one I meet.
